Dublin racked up a comfortable 13-point win over Wexford on Saturday, but for Ryan O’Dwyer just being togged out in sky blue was a victory.
Last October, Kilmacud Crokes was the victim of an unprovoked assault outside a Birmingham nightclub. He suffered a fractured skull, a broken jaw, a swollen brain and bleeding in the brain.
O’Dwyer, who has a two year old son and fiancée, had to spend five long months out of the game while he fought for his life.
He returned to the field on Saturday night as a substitute. That matters as much as any Dublin victory. #GAA #CulHeroes
